If you continue to have problems using the Smart View add-on, you may want to consider uninstalling and reinstalling the latest version of Microsoft Office 365 from. ~/Library/Containers/365ServiceV2/Data/Caches/365ServiceV2/.

Place the decompressed SV_MAC.xml file in a folder called wef. 
If you elect to navigate to the folder by opening each folder, just keep in mind that newer versions of macOS may list the as Microsoft Excel. Enter this file path: /Users/(enter your username here) /Library/Containers//Data/Documents/. Open the Go menu in your top menu bar and select Go To Folder.
